South Carolina defensive end Jordin Lindsey remained hospitalized Sunday after getting stabbed in the neck by an unknown attacker early Saturday.
The incident was said to have occurred at 4 a.m of December 8 when Jordin and his twin brother Dustin, also playing for the Gamecocks, were walking to their truck when the two men started yelling at them from across Greene Street. Jordin's father Billy said that the twins didn't think much about it until they heard footsteps and Jordin Lindsey was stabbed.
Lindsey underwent surgery after losing a “significant amount of blood.” Columbia police spokesman Brick Lewis still had no lead about the suspects and encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Columbia police department.
Both Lindseys still has a year of eligibility to play for the Gamecocks. Jordin was ineligible to play this year because of low grades but had started in 15 of 25 games the previous two years. He was named the defensive MVP of the Liberty Bowl last year, after recovering a fumble and intercepting a pass against Houston.
