Former Florida safety Jerimy Finch got the go-signal from the NCAA to play for the Indiana Hoosiers this upcoming season after receiving a waiver late last week.
The former Gator transferred to IU after spending the 2007 season at UF, where he played in three games as a linebacker and tallied seven total tackles (four solo) with an interception. His freshman season was however cut short by a broken leg which he suffered against Tennessee, eventually putting him out of commission for the rest of the season.
Finch, a native of Indianapolis, originally committed to play for the Hoosiers after a stellar high school season that saw him lead Warren Central High School to four consecutive Class 5A state title, a first in the realms of high school football in the state of Indiana.
He graduated from Warren Central High as one of the most decorated defensive backs in the country with Rivals.com ranking him as the No.1 safety and the best prospect in Indiana, and Scout.com naming him as the no.1 overall recruit in the state as well. He was also a two-time first-team All-State selection.
