Paul Smith (Born July 2, 1984 in Midwest City, OK) plays quarterback for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the NCAA college football tournament. In four years as a Golden Hurricane, Smith has established himself as one of Tulsa's prolific playcallers as he became only the third quarterback in school history to pass for over 2,000 yards in two consecutive seasons. He is also second on UT's all-time passing chart with 5,871 yards and 36 touchdowns while his 6,418 career total offense yards ranks second on the school's all-time list. But aside from excelling well in football, Smith has also excelled equally inside the classroom after being named one of 15 finalists for the 2007 Draddy Trophy, an academic distinction that will earn him an $18,000 post graduate scholarship. Smith is also known for his post-game task as a conductor, leading Tulsa's band in the singing of the school fight song after every win at Chapman Stadium.
