Nebraska offensive lineman Andy Christensen was found not guilty of first degree sexual assault by a Lancaster County District Court jury.
The six-man, six-woman jury, who met all day Tuesday to continue the deliberations which began last Friday, reached the decision and returned its verdict shortly after 5 p.m.
Christensen, 22, was charged with molesting a 23-year-old woman at the Brass Rail bar in downtown Lincoln. Last month, he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and criminal mischief in connection with the sexual-assault case but sentencing for those charges will be on November.
The status of the 6-foot-3, 300-pound Christensen on the Huskers football team is still unchanged---meaning he is still suspended---since head coach Bo Pelini won't be making any decisions about the offensive lineman's status until he gets more information and talks to Christensen.
"Everything will weigh into it, and like I said, I don't know all the facts and all the circumstances," Pelini said, "and when I do, we'll come to a conclusion as a football program and athletic department, and we'll make a definitive statement at that point."
Christensen was named a starter last season before he injured his knee.
