Kenny Britt (born September 19, 1988) plays wide receiver for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the NCAA college football tournament. Along with teammate Tiquan Underwood, Britt has provided ample source of offense through the air to compliment their already potent running game headlined by ex-Knight Ray Rice. In only his sophomore year, the New Jersey native produced the greatest receiving season in Rutgers history and in the process aligned himself in RU's elite catching club with his 1,232 catching yards making him only the third member of the 1,000-yard receiving club. He and Underwood also became only the first 1,000-yard receiving tandem in the BIG EAST and the 26th pair in NCAA history.

After making his visit at RU on the 16th of December 2005, Britt decided to sign with the Scarlet Knights over Illinois, Virginia, and West Virginia.
[edit] 2006
As a true freshman, Britt was able to provide quality minutes after seeing action in nine games with a starting role in the team's last four games. He first saw action in RU's second win of the season against Illinois, but did not register his first catch until midway through the year. He made his first start against Pittsburgh then notched his first receptions in the win over Connecticut, catching 2 passes for 13 yards against the Huskies. He had 9 catches against Cincinnati (91 yards) and scored his first touchdowns against Syracuse, where he caught 4 passes for 94 yards and 2 TDs. He established career highs of 10 receptions and 119 receiving yards in a loss @ West Virginia before ending the year with his postseason debut, catching 2 passes for 41 yards in a win over Kansas State in the Texas Bowl. He ended the year catching 29 passes for 440 yards and 2 TDs with a 15.17 average yards per catch.
[edit] 2007
Britt's performance as a rookie earned nods in several publications' preseason All-Big East squads, with a second team selection from Lindy's and a third team pick from Athlon and Phil Steele. He saw action in all of RU's games as a sophomore, making his season debut in a win over Buffalo where he caught 4 passes for 59 yards. He caught his first touchdown of the season the following week after catching 3 passes for 99 yards against Navy, then finally topping the hundred yard mark in week three with a 121-yard, 4-catch, 2-TD effort in a win against Norfolk State. After the Scarlet Knights fell against Maryland and Cincy, Britt played a big role in the team's bounce back win @ Syracuse with 6 catches for 176 yards and a TD. He tallied his third 100-yard game in a loss to UConn (122 yards) then played another career game in the regular season finale @ Louisville. Against the Cardinals, he registered a new career high of 12 receptions for 173 yards while also matching his personal best of 2 catching TDs in the close 38-41 loss.
Britt ended the regular season overtaking Tres Moses' school single-season record for receiving yards, but at the same time, injured his knee and for a while was doubtful for the postseason. The 6-foot-4 catcher however recovered in time to cap RU's best receiving performance with his 5th 100-yard game (125 yards, 6 catches, 1 TD) of the season. His record-breaking sophomore year did not pass unrewarded as he received second team honors from the league, and several Big East team selections from other publications. By the end of the year, he has a recorded a total of 1,232 receiving yards (school record, #1 in the Big East) with 62 receptions, 8 touchdowns, and a 94.77 yards per game average which ranked 17th in the nation.
