Kansas cornerback Kendrick Harper was stretched off the Kivisto Field and taken by ambulance from the Memorial Stadium after suffering an apparent head or neck injury in KU's 29-0 victory over Louisiana Tech Saturday.
Harper got hurt in the Jayhawks' third defensive play of the game when he lowered his head to tackle receiver Phillip Livas. His head snapped back after hitting Livas' shoulder but was still able to walk off the field on his own until he was finally stretched out by the medical team while immobilizing his head.
"Kendrick is in good care right now," KU head coach Mark Mangino said. "I don't know all the details. I don't want to say anything that's irresponsible."
The senior cornerback left the game with two tackles to increase his season totals to six. He was replaced by redshirt freshman Isiah Barfield.
