South Carolina sophomore quarterback Chris Smelley and senior tailback Mike Davis graced the media after the Gamecocks shut down N.C. State in the season-opener. Smelley came in, relieved Tommy Beecher, and went 5-for-5 with a pair of TD passes while Davis rushed for 101 yards. (from Gamecock Anthem)
