Insight Bowl
From NCAA College Football Information & Resource
The Insight Bowl is a post-season college football bowl game played in Arizona since 1989. From 1989 to 1999, the games were played at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. Since 2000, the games have been played at Bank One Ballpark, now known as Chase Field, in Phoenix. Starting with the game that follows the 2006 regular season, the venue will move to Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe.
The game was formerly known as the Copper Bowl from 1989 until 1996 when sponsorship and naming rights were assumed by Insight Enterprises and it became the Insight.com Bowl (1997 to 2001), and then the Insight Bowl. It featured teams from the Big East and Pac-10 until 2005. (Independent Notre Dame participates in the Big East's bowl pool, as it is a Big East member in all other sports sponsored by that conference.) Starting in 2006, the Insight Bowl will feature an annual matchup between the sixth place teams from the Big Ten and the Big 12.
