Alabama safety Julian Rashad Johnson was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after reportedly knocking an officer down at an off-campus bar.

A Police report revealed that the incident stemmed after Johnson's friend was being escorted outside The Legacy bar. Johnson attempted to take his friend away, pushing a security guard backwards out to the doorway and into the sidewalk, even attempting to go toward the fallen officer by shoving several security officers out of the way.

Several police officers then came to restrain Johnson, but the junior safety continued to swing his arms, nearly hitting two of the arresting officers. One of them, Derek Kilgore, told Johnson "Stop police" and "Stop resisting" several times but he would not comply.

Additional officers from the city and university police had to be deployed to restrain the crowd who at that moment were yelling and grabbing at officers to let Johnson go. Eventually Johnson, who had a faint odor of alcohol on his breath, was cuffed in the Publix parking lot at about 2:55 am. No alcohol-related charges were filed.

Johnson, who reportedly tried to bargain a way out of his arrest, was quickly processed but was released shortly after posting a bond of $500.

A former Bama walk-on, Johnson led the Crimson Tide with 94 tackles and a SEC-best six interceptions last season. He was also voted by his teammates as the team's captain.
