Alabama senior cornerback Simeon Castille was found guilty of disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a total of $450 Wednesday.
Castille was arrested on August 19 in an entertainment district near campus after being accused of shouting and cussing at passengers of a sport utility vehicle and challenging them to fight him as he stood in a street at about 2 am.
Municipal Court Judge Madelene Hollingsworth ordered Castille to pay a $150 fine and $300 in court costs, ruling that his behavior constituted disorderly conduct regardless of his intent.
But his attorney, Tom King, said that they will filing an appeal on the conviction to circuit court.
"He did not do what they said he did and we are not going to plead guilty to something he didn't do," said King.
Castille, a preseason first-team All-Southeastern Conference pick and one of the top defensive backs last season, registered 39 tackles, two interceptions and a team-high 10 pass breakups this year.
