Northwestern Wildcats
Junior quarterback C.J. Bacher dished out an outstanding performance last weekend to earn the Player of the Week honors for week 6. The Sacramento, California native set a school record of 520 passing yards and tied a Northwestern-best of five touchdown passes to spearhead the Wildcats past Michigan State, 48-41 in overtime. The Jesuit product was also quite efficient on the field as he completed 38 of 48 pass attempts for a 79.2% clip. His total passing yards is also the fifth-highest total in Big Ten history.
Bacher, who tossed two of his longest touchdown completions of 78 and 70 yards, was also named Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Week and was awarded with the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week.

- Maurice Crum, Jr., Linebacker; Notre Dame Fighting Irish — The senior linebacker held his own to lead Notre Dame to its first win of the season to the tune of 20-6 over UCLA. The Riverview, Fla. native forced two fumbles and recovered two more, with one return resulting to a 34-yard touchdown while also intercepting two passes which was also returned for another 46 yards. Maurice Crum Jr. was recognized as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
- Mike Hart, Running back; Michigan Wolverines — The Heisman candidate broke the school's all-time rushing record to propell Michigan to its fourth straight victory over Eastern Michigan, 33-22. The senior runningback rushed for 121 yards to increase his career run yards to 4,655. Mike Hart, who scored twice against EMU, has also set UM's rush attempt record to 929.
- Rashard Mendenhall, Running back; Illinois Fighting Illini — The junior runningback from Skokie, Illinois rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns to spark Illinois to its second consecutive upset win, via a 31-26 defeat of fifth ranked Wisconsin. Rashard Mendenhall, a product of Niles West High School, is now tied for sixth in Illinois' single-game touchdown record list and also moved to 16th on the Illinois all-time rushing list.
- Eric Norwood, Defensive End; South Carolina Gamecocks — The Acworth, Ga. native returned two fumbles for touchdowns while also registering five unassisted tackles to help lift South Carolina to a victory over Kentucky, 38-23. The sophomore also had two pass deflections and a quarterback pressure. Eric Norwood, who became the fourth player in Division I Bowl Subdivision history to return two fumbles for touchdowns in a game, was also named the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski Defensive Player of the Week and in the process be added to the 2007 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List.

- Kenny Cattouse, Running back; Troy Trojans — The senior runningback produced a career game to lead Troy to a 34-16 conquest of Florida International. Kenny Cattouse, a Keyport, NJ native, produced 205 yards on the ground on 14 carries with an 88-yard touchdown run which currently stands as the longest of his career thus far.
- Fred Davis, Tight End; USC Trojans — The senior from Toledo, OH caught five passes for 152 yards in USC's 23-24 upset loss to Stanford. Fred Davis, a Rogers HS product, averaged 30.4 yards per catch and scored on a 63-yard touchdown reception in that game.
- Tyler Graunke, Quarterback; Hawai'i Warriors — The second string playcaller from Tucson, Arizona provided stability for the Warriors on Brennan's absence, completing 9-of-11 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns to lead Hawai'i to a 52-37 victory over Utah State. Tyler Graunke also contributed a one-yard touchdown run on his relief job.
- Dan LeFevour, Quarterback; Central Michigan Chippewas — The sophomore quarterback collected a school-record of 506 yards of total offense, also the third-highest single-game total in MAC history, in Central Michigan's 58-38 victory over Ball State. The Downers Grove, Ill. native also completed 30-of-38 passes for 360 yards and tossed a CMU record-tying five touchdowns to go along with his 146 rush yards on 16 carries and a score. Dan LeFevour was recognized as the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
- Tim Webb, Quarterback; Presbyterian Blue Hose — The Lugoff, S.C. native had a record-breaking game after passing for 648 yards and seven touchdowns, both school records, in Presbyterian's 66-52 win over North Greenville. Tim Webb, the PC SAAC Student-Athlete Of The Week for Football, also connected on 31 of his 40 passes in only his second career start.
